SAT Logical Reasoning Section

When planning or resolving an issue, reasoning is the capacity to evaluate situations logically by using logic based on fresh or current information. Before selecting the course of action that will best serve your requirements or have the greatest overall benefit, you can use reasoning to compare the pros and disadvantages of two or more options. It also enables you to handle uncertainty, verify claims, and thoroughly analyze events in order to make decisions that are in your best interests.

There are 7 Types of Reasoning:

1.       Logical Reasoning

As the name implies, these inquiries examine your capacity for logic. They ask you to find solutions to issues that appear to be complex.

2. Verbal Reasoning

These inquiries typically cause concern for persons who are most self-conscious about their linguistic and vocabulary skills. The information that is given in the form of a chart, text, table, or code is included in the verbal reasoning questions.

3. Non-Verbal Reasoning

Logical facts, numbers, and alphabets are all part of non-verbal thinking tests. Typically, a set of figures will be presented here in a specific order, and you will then need to locate the missing figures. As a result, some students find non-verbal questions to take more time than other topics.

To elaborate, non-verbal thinking tests may ask about mirror and water pictures, as well as categories like finding the missing figure among a group of figures, etc. You must examine the series' logic in order to determine the solution.

4. Analytical Reasoning Questions

These inquiries test you’re reasoning and analytical skills. They accomplish this by giving components and circumstances, the relationships between which must be examined.

This force you to use reasoning, watch out for presumptions, and consider the evidence before you decide on the solution.

5. Data Interpretation

In competitive exams, data interpretation typically accounts for most of the scores.  A lot of data is often presented in the form of bar graphs, pie charts, line graphs, or other tabulations, and questions are then posed in light of the facts.

Your computations must be precise and correct in order to respond to these questions. Therefore, you can do well on these questions of reasoning abilities by practicing, becoming adept with numbers, and attempting to arrive at the proper answers.

6. Data Sufficiency

Questions about data sufficiency include text in addition to the data. They expect you to study the paragraph and then respond to the question, which necessitates some mathematical understanding.

Sometimes, though, the information needed to answer the question is not included in the question itself.

7. Puzzles

Continuous diagrams or symbols are used in these kinds of problems, and you are supposed to pick out the unusual ones. With the proper application of concepts, tactics, and techniques, answering reasoning puzzle questions can be completed quickly. As a result, working with puzzles can help you get better grades.

You can improve your ability to solve problems by selecting various online options. These puzzles could be based on numbers, playing cards, the month and date, boxes, floors, or queries relating to clocks.

 Why Take This Course?

5 Important AP Courses and Their Prerequisites!

Students who take Advanced Placement (AP) courses and examinations, and particularly those who perform highly on these exams, have been shown to have better grade point averages (GPAs) in their first year of college than their non-AP counterparts. Involvement in the AP programme appears to be correlated with higher levels of readiness for rigorous coursework at the university level. In this article we will be taking you through 5 important AP Courses and their prerequisites.

Components Necessary for Advanced Placement Statistics

The Advanced Placement (AP) Statistics course is designed to familiarize students with the fundamental ideas and methods used in the study of statistical data. All aspects of the AP Statistics course, from material to methodology to evaluation, revolve around four central ideas: data exploration, sampling and experimentation, probability and simulation, and statistical inference. To develop one‘s conceptual understanding, students engage in activities such as problem-solving, and language skills.

Any high school student who has completed a second year algebra course and demonstrates mathematical maturity and quantitative reasoning ability will do well in the AP Statistics course. Since intermediate algebra is the prerequisite, AP Statistics is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors. It is important to consider a student's goals when deciding whether or not to enroll in AP Statistics.

Taking Masterclass Space’s Best AP Statistics Coaching as a junior will prepare you well for any science class you may take as a senior. You will be better prepared for the rigorous intellectual environment of college by taking our class, and it will also help you graduate earlier. If a student doesn't take any math courses during their senior year, AP Statistics is a great way for them to keep up with their quantitative skills. Students who are interested in keeping their options open for college-level calculus curriculum should take precalculus and possibly Advanced Placement (AP) Statistics at the same time. Students who are strong in math are strongly advised to take both AP Statistics and AP Calculus during their time in high school.

Components Necessary for AP Physics 1

College-level introductory physics course, AP Physics 1, is algebra-based. In this physics course, students develop their knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, circular motion and gravitation, energy, momentum, simple harmonic motion, torque and rotational motion, electric charge and electric force, DC circuits, mechanical waves and sound through hands-on experiments.

It is recommended that students have taken Geometry and are currently enrolled in Algebra II. Although the use of trigonometric functions is introduced at a fundamental level in Physics 1, students can acquire this knowledge in either the accompanying mathematics course or in Advanced Placement Physics 1.

Components Necessary for AP Physics 2

Algebra is a key component of AP Physics 2, an introductory college-level physics course. To develop their physics knowledge, students conduct experiments in the following areas: fluids; thermodynamics; electrical force, field, and potential; electric circuits; magnetism and electromagnetic induction; geometric and physical optics; quantum, atomic, and nuclear physics. Students should have taken or be enrolled in pre-calculus or an equivalent course, as well as completed AP Physics 1 or a comparable introductory physics course.

Components Necessary for AP Physics C

The calculus-based physics course AP Physics C: Mechanics is taken by college-bound students. It explores such topics as kinematics, Newton's laws of motion, work, energy, power, particle systems and linear momentum, rotary motion, oscillations, and gravity. Calculus is a required course that students should either have completed or be presently enrolled in. It has been proved that taking Masterclass Space’s Best AP Physics Coaching will increase your chances of being accepted to the university of your choice. Having AP classes on your transcript will make you stand out from the competition.

Components Necessary for Advanced Placement Chemistry

You should undoubtedly enroll in Best AP Chemistry Classes if you want to pursue a field of study that places a significant emphasis on chemistry, such as chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, molecular biology, pre-med, or any other such field. There is simply not enough material covered in Honors Chemistry to adequately prepare you for the freshman level chemistry courses. You should go into college having a good understanding of VSEPR, equilibrium, and intermolecular forces because these concepts are very, very important to know and a semester course will cover them too quickly to let you fully master them. You should go into college having a good understanding of VSEPR, equilibrium, and intermolecular forces. You will gain a year of experience with these topics via AP Chemistry.

Now is the perfect time to start thinking about your post-secondary education as you move closer to the completion of high school. The SAT can play a crucial role in the life of many students. Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States are just a few of the nations that use SAT scores to gauge a student's academic readiness. Being sufficiently prepared for the SAT can have a significant influence because many of these universities and colleges use applicants' SAT scores to determine whether to admit those students.

There are various ways that Online SAT Tutor Classes in Singapore might help with this issue. First of all, your private teacher can create courses just for you.

After an initial evaluation of your style of learning, your learning strategies, and your objectives for your SAT preparations, your Singapore SAT instructor can customize classes and design programs to match your learning needs.

Working to improve study habits might be a part of this personalization. Your individual teacher can assist you in developing better study habits that will improve your ability to retain material. Some students opt to take the SAT multiple times, and enhancing study techniques can assist them in striving for a higher score the next time.

Your SAT tutoring sessions in Singapore are scheduled around you. As long as you have internet access and a laptop or other portable device, you may learn while you're on the road with online lessons.

You can adjust the pace of the classes when you take private courses. You can spend more time on a subject where you need to improve, or you can rush over subjects wherever you only require a reference. For the Math segment, you can choose to concentrate on your math skills, and for the Reading test, you might choose to devote more time on reading and comprehension rather than vocabulary. Even more, your Singapore SAT tutor will work with you to decide which topics you should concentrate on, and he or she can modify lesson plans as you go.

Although the majority of the SAT Exam Preparation in Singapore may concentrate on exam content, your individual teacher can also help you with developing your test-taking abilities. Your ability to manage your time effectively will help you finish the test in the allotted time while still giving each question the attention it deserves. Reading the problems more quickly is one form of time management. For example, our Masterclass Space’s SAT instructor can help you figure out more effective strategies to cut down on incorrect answer selections so that you have more time for other sections of the test. To help you get used to taking the test, your private tutor also may give you one or more practice SATs.

How to Improve Your SAT College Profile?

There are various easily overlooked details that you really want to remember to outperform the splendor of your rivals' school applications. Here, we will detail the bare essential of an ideal SAT school profile.

1. Use Only Strong Materials

It is admirable that you participated in a variety of extracurricular activities, held leadership in the student council, and wrote for the school magazine while keeping good marks. However, you must avoid including irrelevant or useless details in your college application because doing so will make it longer and more time-consuming for the admissions committee to read. Instead of mentioning every accomplishment, you've made since first grade, try to be a little selective.

Include activities that demonstrate your capacity to function effectively in a group, such as your participation in sports where your team won awards or your dedication to volunteer work. . Doing an extracurricular project that demands you to go above and beyond to attain your goals also provides the idea that the person is open to difficulties and taking risks. The admissions committee will be impressed by the presence of such a point. Diverse performing arts disciplines, such as singing, dance, instrumental music, etc., can be considered hobbies.

2. Consistently Achieve High Marks

Most pupils see a decline in their marks after the tenth standard. This is either a result of their casual approach to learning or a toughening of the curriculum due to a radical shift in courses or the addition of new ones. Make sure that there isn't any substantial change in your grades after the tenth grade if you desire your SAT college profile to be immaculate. You wouldn't want your SAT application to reflect that you lack interest in your studies by having a quick and dramatic drop in grades.

3. Perform Well

No matter how admirable your accomplishments are, if you do not filter them well—that is, choose the sequence and manner in which you want to show your accomplishments—they will decrease your chances of selection. Prioritize your achievements; give more weight to those that contributed to the larger good, such as those who gave honor to your institution or the community, than to unimportant details like winning first place in a singing contest in Grade 2.

4. Take Extra Coaching Classes.

These courses and exams are intended to enable students to obtain college credit while still in high school. Your application will stand out because you challenged yourself and made the additional effort to research whatever the college has to offer. College admission officers consider your application in the context of your academic history.

5. Look like a "Focused and Decisive Student"

It is normal that you might become interested in different extracurricular activities during your time in school, such as athletics or cultural activities, and simultaneously join them. Admissions officers look for a more exclusive concentration on one activity in the prospective students.  Therefore, even while you want to include all of the extracurricular activities you have participated in and earned honors for, it is crucial that you also demonstrate a surge in one area .

Making a solid decision to practise and master just one activity demonstrates decisiveness and the capacity to make a real difference in the field and bring honor to the college.

How do you prepare for BITSAT chemistry factual questions?

When it comes to the chemistry section of the BITSAT, it is simply not an option to ignore any part of the NCERT book. The main reason for selecting these books is that, in order to prepare questions for the BITSAT's Chemistry section, examiners frequently only consult NCERT chemistry textbooks. As a result, it is important to thoroughly review all NCERT chemistry textbooks in order to perform well in the section. BITSAT is an online exam. Therefore, completing the BITSAT Test Series can be quite beneficial in preparing you for the questions and time constraints you will face on test day.

Organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry make up the chemistry section of BITSAT in the most basic sense. These three chemistry stems can be used to construct factual questions. Topics such as chemical bonding, atomic structure, p-block elements, mole concepts, biomolecules, electrochemistry, chemical thermodynamics, and alkanes are likely to be covered in the test. BITSAT includes 40 chemistry-related questions. Thirty-five are hypothetical in nature, while the remaining are based on actual events.

What is the best approach to tackling the three components of chemistry?

Organic Chemistry

To be successful in this area of chemistry, one must be well-versed in both general organic chemistry and isomerism theory. For the BITSAT 2023 Syllabus, you should take notes on all probable reactions. In addition, you must have a fundamental understanding of mechanical systems. These chapters may contain a few queries that seem minor to you. As a result, it is highly recommended that you read through nearly everything.

Inorganic Chemistry

Inorganic chemistry is a broad area, so it's not a good idea to cover it all in one piece. In this case, NCERT textbooks are really essential. In addition, you can develop your own notes and stick to them in order to combat inorganic chemistry. Give atomic structure and chemical bonding more time in your schedule. Take care not to spend too much time on the preparation of p-Block Elements, biomolecules, or electrochemistry.

Physical Chemistry

Numerical and factual questions are the focus of this portion of physical chemistry. If you want to do well in physical chemistry, you need to spend more time working on your numerical reasoning skills.

Several online assessments are available for your review and study. Masterclass Space’s BITSAT Online Test Series simulates the exam experience, allowing you to test your actual performance under time constraints. The ability to solve problems quickly is critical in BITSAT and should be prioritized. Ionic Equilibrium, Chemical Equilibrium, and Gas Laws are just a handful of the most important aspects of chemistry. You can also cover other topics, but not in depth. There are some topics in the BITSAT syllabus that are more significant than others. It's vital to study them all, but some are more important than others.

BITSAT 2022: Analysis of 4th and 5th July papers of BITSAT along with some memory-based questions

BITSAT has started from 4th July in its new pattern and same is true for experience of students this year. In this article we bring you detailed analysis of papers attempted by various student on 4th and 5th July and also will be sharing some important questions and insights for students who are yet to attempt the exam.

This article is based on the interaction of Academic team of Masterclass Space (MCS) BITSAT Test Series with students of Masterclass Space BITSAT Test Series. Also, since paper of BITSAT is completely different for each student, hence this analysis is sum up of various tests our students attempted in last 2 days and not limited to one particular set of paper.

First and foremost, many students felt that level of questions was little higher as compared to papers of past years. This was very much expected as the number of questions have been decreased keeping the time same and MCS team had already incorporated that in its revised test series of 2022.

Secondly, level of 4-5 (out of 20 as per New Pattern of BITSAT 2022) logical reasoning question was very good and students had to spend good amount of time in such questions. BEWARE of such questions in your exam, you MUST NOT spend too much time on any question as it can very badly affect your speed. Try to mark them for review and come back once you have attempted other questions.

As far as English was concerned, students found some new vocabulary terms difficult but otherwise it was manageable. Extremely lengthy comprehension with only 2 questions took some students by surprise.

Coming to Mathematics section, the difficulty level was on higher side and as many as 6-7 questions required extensive calculations. Students were mostly expecting the same though as same has been trend of Mathematics section in JEE 2022 Session-1 and same was true also in initial 2 days of BITSAT.

Chemistry and Physics were of NCERT and slightly higher level and that's where BITSAT was marks-scoring and time-saving for most of students. Those who could capitalize on these 2 sections were able to spend good time in remaining portions.

Overall, level of BITSAT was higher as compared to previous years but our students were well prepared for the same and hence were able to do good.

For benefits of other students, we are sharing some memory-based questions:

Get Ready For BITSAT New Exam Pattern 2022

This year's BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) will have a new testing format in 2022. It is anticipated that the exam will feature a smaller number of questions and a higher portion on Logical Reasoning.

This year, the exam will be offered in two separate sessions. Candidates have the option of taking either or both examinations. Candidates who only applied for Session I now have the option to register for Session II in the future if they so choose.

It has been reduced to 130 questions overall, but the number of Logical Reasoning problems has increased. It's a multiple-choice test, and there are four possible responses to each question, with only one being the correct one. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, whereas each incorrect response carries a penalty of 1 mark. Find out more about the BITSATtest in this article. The BITSAT will be conducted across a number of days, and candidates can select the testing centre, day, and time that work best for them.

What's in store for BITSAT in 2022?

Two sessions of the BITSAT test will be held prior to the start of the academic year.

After appearing in the first session, candidates can apply for the second session as well.

The second round of applications is only open to those who applied for Session 1.

Candidates are not required to take the test in both sessions, but if they do, the higher of the two scores will be considered.

Question count has been trimmed down to 130.

As of today, Logical Reasoning contains 20 questions.

The 12 new questions also cover logical reasoning.

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and Logical Reasoning & English comprise four sections of the BITSAT, which will feature a total of 130 questions. Each section has the following number of questions:

Part

Subject

No of questions

Part I

Physics

30

Part II

Chemistry

30

Part III

(a) English Proficiency,

10

(b) Logical Reasoning

20

Part IV

Mathematics / Biology

Total

130

BITSAT New Pattern 2022: Additional Questions

In addition to the 150 questions, candidates will be given an additional 12 questions in BITSAT 2022. These 12 additional questions will be presented to the applicants who finish the initial test.

But these additional questions need to be tackled inside these 3 hours only. The division of these additional questions is:

Physics: 4 questions

Chemistry: 4 questions

Mathematics/Biology: 4 questions

NOTE: Candidates who choose to answer these 12 extra questions are not allowed to go back to the original exam and make any changes in those 130 answers.

The questions in BITSAT are prepared in a way that a good student will be able to answer 130 questions in 3 hours. The extra questions (a maximum of 12) would give a chance to extremely meritorious candidates to score higher. Any attempt to answer questions by pure guessing of the answers will not likely have any advantage but may reduce the total score, candidates should keep in mind that there are negative markings for inaccurate responses.

It is very important to practice online mock test consistently as BITSAT is all about speed & accuracy. Reach out at info@masterclassspace.com today for BITSAT Test Series by Masterclass Space!
