Examining for AP in 2025
The AP Exams are
administered only in May of each year, and registration is required in advance.
In India, several secondary schools offer both AP courses and AP exams;
however, they typically limit participation to their registered students. As
long as they are eligible to take the test, all students can access authorized
AP testing locations. AP

AP Exam Eligibility for 2025
The secondary
schools where they are enrolled, or other AP-authorized schools or testing
locations, may offer AP exams to students who fall into any of the following
categories:
Secondary school
students are actively enrolled.
Students at the
secondary school level who attend a virtual school, homeschool, or engage in
independent study.
Students who are
currently enrolled and might be ready to take the AP exam before entering the
ninth grade.
For university
admission, recent high school graduates are required to take a specific AP
exam.
The following extra ID requirements may be enforced by
authorized AP testing locations in India:
To be admitted to
the administration of the AP Exam, students must have their original, valid
passports.
The student must
also have the Aadhaar in either the original letter format or the PVC version
with hologram alone (both obtained from UIDAI) if the original, valid passport
is not available. Other versions of Aadhaar will not be accepted.
Policies for AP testing:
- Any one of the four physics tests may be taken in the same year
- Exams cannot be taken in the same year; however, they can be retaken in a later year.
- Calculus BC and Calculus AB cannot be taken in the same year.
- Precalculus and Calculus AB or Calculus BC can be taken in the same year.
- You can't take two tests on the same day and time. During the next testing opportunity, choose which exam you want to take first, and then take the other exam.
- (If provided by a testing facility.) AP Computer Science Principles Exam prerequisite: You must be enrolled in the relevant AP course at a school that is permitted to offer the course to register for this exam. To obtain a full AP Exam score, students need to finish the final exam and turn in their portfolio work.
- The AP exam is given in person at the testing location.
